The Science of Humidity: Demystifying the Invisible Humidity refers to the amount of water vapor present in the air. But measuring humidity isn’t as simple as checking a water gauge. Two terms you’ll encounter often are: Absolute humidity : The actual amount of water vapor per unit volume of air, usually measured in grams per cubic meter (g/m³). Relative humidity (RH ): The percentage of water vapor present in the air compared to the maximum amount it can hold at a specific temperature. This is the more commonly used metric, with ideal levels typically ranging between 40-60% RH for most commercial buildings....
